Meet Capt. Bryce

Born and raised in Jupiter, Florida, Captain Bryce Gabriel grew up fishing the Loxahatchee River and Indian River Lagoon, developing an early appreciation for Florida’s unique waters and wildlife. He was introduced to fly fishing at a young age by his uncle and quickly fell in love with the sport and everything that comes with spending a day on the water.

The Florida Keys have always held a special place for Bryce. He spent many vacations exploring the waters around Islamorada with his uncle, poling the flats of Florida Bay and dreaming of one day making the Keys home. In 2021, that dream became a reality when he moved to the Florida Keys and began his career as a fishing guide.

Since then, Bryce has spent countless days on the water pursuing the diverse species that make Florida Bay and the Islamorada backcountry so special, including bonefish, tarpon, snook, redfish, permit, sea trout, sharks, and mangrove snapper.

Bryce is a laid-back, lighthearted guide who believes a great day on the water is about more than just the fish you catch. Whether you’re chasing a trophy on fly, casting light tackle across the flats, or simply enjoying a quiet morning surrounded by the beauty of the Everglades and Florida Bay, his goal is to make sure you have a memorable experience from start to finish.

A graduate of Florida Gulf Coast University with a degree in Environmental Studies, Bryce has a deep appreciation for Florida’s natural environment and the ecosystems that make the Keys such a special place. His knowledge of the area extends beyond fishing, giving guests an opportunity to experience and better understand the incredible wildlife, habitats, and scenery that surround them.

For Bryce, guiding is about sharing a place he loves. The fish are certainly part of the adventure, but so are the sunrises, wildlife, stories, and time spent together on the water. Whether you’re an experienced angler or picking up a fly rod for the first time, Bryce hopes you’ll leave the boat with great memories and an even greater appreciation for the Florida Keys.

About the Boat

Capt. Bryce guides out of an 18’ Chittum skiff powered by a Yamaha F70. The skiff can accommodate up to 2 anglers, not including Capt. Bryce (3 people total).

Chittum skiffs are top of the line when it comes to technical poling skiffs. They are designed to float shallow, pole quietly, and provide a dry, comfortable ride — making them the perfect vessel for sight-fishing the crystal-clear flats of the Florida Keys.
